Italiano in gioco in SL.

I’m proud to show you some snapshots from the action research that was carried out by Carmela Dell’Aria (aka Misy Ferraris) and Susanna Nocchi (aka Su Nacht) and involved a group of Irish students learning Italian as a foreign language through a popular learner-generated 3D environment called Second Life (SL). Participants from DIT (Dublin Institute of Technology) participated in a three-months long Italian learning section in SL. The pilot study set out to observe and describe their spontaneous use of Italian in what is effectively their language acquisition process. I would like to share our experience from the action research Italiano in gioco: dire, fare e giocare…in SL for the design, testing and implementation of language teaching and learning in Second Life. Italiano in gioco: dire, fare e giocare…in SL is part of the main project Café Italia, an experimental project about Italian teaching and learning delivered in SL since 2007 by Carmela Dell’Aria (aka Misy Ferraris) from University of Palermo. The participating European partners in this action research are 3 state funded universities:Università degli Studi di Palermo, Laboratorio Itals – Università di Venezia Ca’ Foscari, DIT Dublin Institute of Technology.

At the Bank

The 3rd edition of Italian in SL started with a group of Irish students. It was a great experience and I hope to go on with them. Here some pictures taken during the session. Enjoy them!

Goodbye….

We're at the end of this great course. It's important what I've learnt and what I can do but it's also important what I lived with you, what we shared about feelings and support. Thank you for being my Inspiration!

My dream classroom

This is a sketch of my dream classroom that I created by Gliffy. Actually this sketch is so far from my real classroom both at school and University. I hope to teach as soon as possible in a new environment like this!
